I am a 25 year old Turkish woman from Ankara, currently living in New York.
Here is a ten bullet-point attempt to capture who I am:
I have a background in law and I am currently doing a fellowship at UNFPA. To find out what that stands for and read more about my professional and academic interests, click here.
I am an outgoing introvert, usually going through cycles of over-socialisation and indulgent me-time. I carry at least one journal with me at all times and keep a diary filled with random pieces of paper I take from the places I visit.
I try to surround myself with smart, interesting and driven people and go out of my way to meet people with different interests and backgrounds.
I enjoy putting myself in uncomfortable and random situations ranging from backpacking in Malaysia on my own to couch surfing around Europe. Regardless of if I am traveling or not, I am in a constant exploration mode, searching for new experiences and discoveries.
The culmination of these two interests have resulted in the recent birth of my blog, where I attempt to capture "stories about people, things and happenings at miscellaneous places" through my preferred mediums of expression: photography, writing and drawing. You can read more about it here.
I grew up as a shy bookworm and still feel my best when I am buried in a well-written work of fiction. I am also trying to grow an interest in non-fiction as a part of adulthood, which I have to reluctantly admit remains largely unsuccessful, just like my attempt to appreciate whiskey. My mild OCD has resulted in a well-kept Goodreads account, which you can follow here.
Even though I am gloriously untalented at anything musical, I really enjoy good music. I spend an irrational amount of my pay on concert tickets and I am currently on a quest to make the most out of the musical offerings of New York. You can follow me on Spotify where I keep my monthly playlists.
